Emberpaw padded towards the hollow, freezing when Radge cried out. She noticed the lack of their kit's scents and felt her heart break. She felt her legs give out as she sobbed.
Dair just nodded. He was back to being his quiet self, silently praying his parents would arrive soon.

Radge went to her side and licked her face. "Common, I can track Taz." He said, not willing to give up yet.

Emberpaw lifted her head to look at Radge, her amber eyes glittering with tears. "But what if they were stolen?" she asked paranoid "what if the badger came back?" She shuddered at the thought of their kits laying somewhere close, in a puddle of their blood. Her sobs intensified at this image, she didn't know how she would go on without their kits.

"That's not badger Emberpaw, use your senses. It's twoleggeds. And I'm sure the kittens will be okay." Radge wasn't sure. He was scared to death, but he had to be strong for Emberpaw.
