Cursedangel wondered what she would want. If her kits were with StarClan, she would easily choose to stay with them, wouldn't she? But what if they weren't? Somehow Curse didn't want to think about that possibility. She pricked her ears forward as Moonpaw talked about Stoneteller and the ways of his tribe once more. She was fascinated by the existence of this clan-like group of cats that was so different yet held together by the same beliefs and camaraderie. She listened to Moonpaw as he talked about how cats shared dreams with those that had moved on. She hesitated, wondering if she really would like to meet her kits one day. She sighed and felt a tiny bit of loneliness rising in her chest.
"I'm not sure if that could happen," she meowed quietly. "They... they hardly knew me at all, I suppose." She murmured, thinking about her little kits, nameless and too young to have their lives snatched away from them. It broke her heart to remember, but she knew she had to keep that memory precious to her. She wouldn't let it crush her soul like she used to, but it was a special thing to believe they really would want to see her some day, up in the stars with cats that had lived before.

"I don't know how I could tell you so that you believe me, but trust me...whoever it is you lost...they'll know. They'll remember you." Moonpaw fixed Cursedangel with a serious gaze. "And if I have to spend my time running between two skies to be with the ones that I love, then I will. Starclan...or the Tribe of Endless Hunting...it is strength of spirit that matters there, nothing else. You'd be amazed how far that strength can carry you. It's why I'm still here now." Moonpaw gave a small smile. "And I couldn't see you caring so much for cats who were weak in spirit. Wherever they are, they will find you. Just keep your heart and senses open."
Moonpaw rose to his feet and stretched, then sat back down again. "We've been away from camp a long while. For some reason, I feel like I've accomplished more here with you than if I had spent the whole day hunting and training."

Cursedangel listened to Moonpaw speak, amazed at the wisdom in his words. He was younger than she, but he already knew so much of the world. Experience had given him knowledge, she supposed. And she would forever be grateful of his help in freeing her spirit. Cursedangel thought about her kits. There had been the one tomkit, that was black like his father, with one white stripe across his eye. She wondered what color they would be if he had lived. Then there were the two she-cats. One was a silver tabby like Curse, the other was pure white like Cursedangel's mother. They had all been so beautiful. The white kit had been the first to die. She lived close to three hours, then her breathing just stopped. Two days later, her sister joined her. Cursedangel was able to keep the tom alive for another few days, then he joined his siblings in death. It had been hard, seeing them all slowly leave her. But they had fought. They were fighters. Perhaps they really would find her somehow. She glanced at Moonpaw, wondering if she should tell him about them. But just as she convinced herself that she would, thoughts of Rook dissuaded her. She couldn't tell Moonpaw about him. And how could she be sure that Moonpaw wouldn't judge her if she told him about her kits but didn't mention their father? Doubt weighed heavily on Cursedangel's heart. She almost wished he had been present for Lilith's slip-up, then she could at least feel that she owed him an explanation. She turned her attention back to him in time to hear his last words. A slow smile spread across her face, gentle and genuine.
"You've accomplished more for me than one hundred hunts could fill," she murmured.

Moonpaw watched as the stormy gray of memory overtook Cursedangel's eyes and she reverted back to a trance-like state. Moonpaw wasn't sure if he wanted to be there, somewhere that seemed to be so personal, painful and heartfelt...or if he wanted to shout her back to present reality.
He quickly glanced away and scuffed his paw on the ground, embarrassed and nervous. "You're different from the others. I wish I could do more. Maybe someday..." The young tom quickly glanced at her, momentarily revealing the future strength and resolve of a warrior, than glanced away again, his youth betraying the lack of self-confidence that only experience and age would bring. He felt young and small all of a sudden, next to the older warrior. He struggled with his feelings, wondering if she could look at a younger cat the way he wanted her to...

Cursedangel's head tipped to one side slightly as she watched Moonpaw's face, wondering what the expressions he wore meant. She wasn't sure what he was thinking, but when he spoke, he seemed genuinely embarrassed. Had her words made him feel uneasy? But his words calmed Cursedangel's nerves, making her feel a pleasant hope that yes, someday, there would be a chance for him to cleanse away the rest of her past. She knew he was younger than she, and that some cats would consider her feelings strange, but Cursedangel couldn't deny that she admired Moonpaw, and hoped one day that she could mean something to him. Cursedangel gently rubbed her paw against the surface of the stone that he had given her - the tiny piece of his mountain home. Then she looked up at him with a shy smile.
"Someday." She mewed quietly.

Moonpaw glanced back with a vulnerable smile and sighed some relief, though he was still nervous around the first cat he had feelings for since he was taken from his home.
He wasn't sure why this question came to his mind, but he was curious to know the answer, though he suspected he knew what it was. "Do you spend time with other cats in the clan? I've only met some of the apprentices and well...." I'm unimpressed. he finished silently. He suspected there weren't other cats like Cursedangel. They were probably bumbling and overly eager to please like that furball Gatheringclouds.
"We should meet here again...the two of us. The way the land and sky meet, and the cliff ends at our paws...the land rolls out forever and I can't tell if I'm looking into the future or the past..." he looked at Cursedangel with intensity. "If we were land, I feel that's just what we would look like."

Cursedangel smiled back, feeling more elated and happier than she ever had. Since losing her kits, Cursedangel had felt that nothing could make her happy again, so the thought of loving was completely abandoned. But now, she had hope for the future - a future with Moonpaw. Cursedangel started at his question, wondering what he meant by it. Was he hoping to find more friends, or was he just curious who she spent time with? She couldn't say.
"I don't really know anyone..." She meowed softly, "I only ever spend time with my sister, Lilithnight." She said. A moment of silence passed, and then Moonpaw spoke. Cursedangel looked around her at the place where she had been considering death. Now, it was almost the opposite of what it had been. The slopes of the ravine and the distant hills were no longer dangerous and sad. They were full of light and song. Cursedangel turned to Moonpaw and smiled.
"Yes," she meowed, "I think I like this place." Her eyes never left Moonpaw's as she spoke, and her smile was genuine and sweet. She would like nothing better than to meet him again, alone, in the place where she finally learned to love again.

Moonpaw smiled and stared at her for a moment. He then got to his paws and quickly padded up to Cursedangel and touched noses with her for a split second before leaning back. "Tomorrow then." he meowed, his dark blue eyes glittering. "Maybe you can show me around the rest of the territory. We'll meet here at sun high...I hate to go back, but I'm bound to get in trouble...again." he finished, an amused and exasperated smile on his face.

Cursedangel smiled. It had been a long time since she looked forward to another day.
"I guess we'll have to wait until you're a warrior to really spend some time together." She meowed, wishing there was some logical way to steal him away from the camp. She wondered if she could convince Songstar to let her take him out for training every now and again. It's so weird to think that he's younger than me, she mused. He seems so much older.

Moonpaw felt his chest fill with a feeling of weightlessness. A warrior. She wants to spend time with me....I'll have to try and become a warrior as soon as I can! Finally, the inspiration he needed. He would listen to what his mentor had to say now, if it meant that he could spend more time with Cursedangel. "I'll find a way." he promised. "I'll get here. You can count on me." He nodded seriously before turning to run back to camp.
(I'll continue back at camp if you want her to end up following him back.)

Cursedangel smiled slightly. She realized that she'd worked her face more that day than she had for moons. It ached a little, but it was a pleasant ache. Cursedangel sighed, thinking that she could barely wait for the day when they could be together longer. She looked down at the stone clutched beneath her paw. She turned and padded to a little outcropping of rocks near their meeting place. Squeezing it into a little smoothed out cavern, she covered the hole with a large stone to protect it and then decided it was high time to return to camp. Cursedangel thought about everything that had happened with a contented sigh.
"I hope you're glad for me, my loves," she murmured, glancing up at the sky with eyes bright with hope, "I hope that I can really become the Angel that Flies above a Curse." With a smile, she followed Moonpaw's path back to the Clan.
OOC: Maybe we should do a time skip? =v=
