Phadestar had lead the way with Amberfire close behind and before they knew it they were at the clearing "Are you ready Amberfire?" he asked her with a flick of his tail.

Amberfire padded through the forest at Phadestar's heels. "Always" she mewed. She moved a small distance away, and looked at Phadestar. Her tail flicked behind her impatiently as she waited for his first move.

Phadestar looked around and then began to move forward at a fast pace as to catch Amberfire off guard as he jumped into the air and began to try to land the blow.

Amberfire watched him carefully, calculating her move. She saw him leap, paw outstretched and dropped to the ground rolling to the side. She jumped back up, aiming a swipe at his flank.

Phadestar felt her paw connect and pushed him back a bit but with a grunt he was back and then he speeded forward but instead as soon as he was close he dropped and slid under her outstretched paws battered her belly with claws sheathed.

Amberfire watched him run at her, just as she was going to dodge he slid under her. She felt the paws batter at her belly and smirked. She reared her paws into the air, and brought them, sheathed, down on his belly.

Phadestar thought he had the advantage but he also knew Amberfire was never one to miss a battle and felt her paws hit his belly knocking the wind out of him and sending him out from under her as well shakily getting up on his paws he said "Nice move"

"You too" Amberfire mewed. She was already beginning to pant in the greenleaf heat. She took the break as an advantage and darted forward, swatting at his face.

Phadestar who had not expected this to a paw to the face and was sent reeling backwards a bit but he shook it off and jumped above her landing on her back with his weight pulled into it to knock her over.

Amberfire felt the weight on her back and let herself fall to the ground. She used the extra weight to roll over onto her back, pinning Phadestat beneath her.

Phadestar felt himself hit the ground below Amberfire and was almost confused but realizing what she had done he quickly fail limp confusing her hopefully and then he pushed up when he felt her grip lessening.

Amberfire loosened her grip, not wanting to actually hurt him. She felt his paws on her back, and allowed him to push her off. She got to her paws and stood panting harshly.

Phadestar's eyes glowed and he asked her "You wanna take a break fro real this time?"

Amberfire nodded. "Yeah, let's a break" she mewed. She didn't realize how out of practice she'd become. Guess I really need this training she thought to herself.

Phadestar quickly found a shady spot to rest in and beckoned her to come over then he said "It sure is nice around here like my old home was...." he finished with a sigh of regret remembering his home being burnt to the ground by a strike of lightning.

Amberfire followed Phadestar to the shade. She settled down beside him, thankful for a little relief from the heat. She sensed her mates sadness and leaned over to place an affectionate lick on his muzzle to try comfort him.

Phadestar looked over at Amberfire "Im sorry for acting so depressed its just the memories of my past they always haunt me so much" he said in a distraught manner.

"Don't apologize" Amberfire mewed. She leaned closer to Phadestar and let a deep purr rumble through her chest, in an effort to comfort her distraught mate.

Phadestar felt comforted by his mate and leaned towards her breathing her scent he remembered all the times he had been cold towards her but she kept cracking away at his outer shell to see the good in his heart what made him a true mate and leader on the inside "Ill always love you Amberfire and nothing not even death will change that"

Amberfire smiled and felt her cheeks heat up at the comment. "I love you too" she mewed "forever and always."

Phadestar purred and the moment seemed to be endless him and Amberfire lounging in the sandy hollow he wished the moment could be longer for eternity but clan leadership duties always came first and he knew it couldn't be forever but he tried to manage it.

Amberfire leaned against her mate, glad for the closeness. It was rare that she got to spend this much uninterrupted time with her mate and she never let it go to waste. "So what did you want to do now?" she asked.

Phadestar mulled her question over for a moment "How about getting reacquainted with our territory I know we have a great deputy and all, but as a clan leader I wouldn't mind checking things out every once in a while" he said with confidence hoping she would like the idea.

Amberfire thought about the suggestion for a moment. "That sounds like a great idea" she mewed, a smile on her maw. She knew that this would give her even more time to be with her mate and couldn't turn it down.
