Still bearing a smile upon his muzzle, Vixion nodded at Eleison with an understanding. He could tell that there was something about the she-cat that wasn't exactly right, but he figured that he best not ask questions about a total stranger that he had just met. She was an extremely hesitant she-cat and Vixion was chomping at the bit to find out why, but once again he figured it best not to question or dig about her life.
"Ah, so is there another place where the current is weaker?" The bracken tom asked, his smile slowly fading because his jaw started to hurt.

Eleison nodded. She made her way towards the river. Kyrie followed, feeling cheerful as usual. She liked watching her friend swim, mostly because she hardly ever saw a cat in water enjoying themselves. Eleison stopped beside the riverbank and looked down at her reflection. Then she waded into the water and struck out into the currents. It was plenty gentle, so she didn't have any problem circling in the cool water. Glancing back at Kyrie, she let a little smile form on her lips.
"She surprised me the first time she leaped into a pond," Kyrie meowed to Vixion cheerfully. "She's amazing!"

Vixion's jaw nearly dropped when the she-cat swam around the water as if it was nothing. "How in the world does she do that?" the bracken tomcat turned to Kyrie with an astonished look on his face. He simply could not believe that a cat could swim this well. He turned his attention back to Eleison just in time to see a shy smile creeping upon her muzzle. For an attractive she-cat, Eleison was positively beautiful when she smiled.
"I might go as far as saying that I'm extremely jealous of her ability to dive into the water like it's nothing," he mewed with a soft hint of laughter.

Kyrie blinked and turned to Vixion.
"I wish I knew how she did it," she replied, her whiskers twitching with amusement. "It would make traveling a lot easier if I could swim across rivers like a fish." Kyrie turned and watched as Eleison paused for a moment. Suddenly her head plunged under, leaving the surface of the river still. A few moments passed, then Eleison erupted on their side of the bank, a large fish clamped tightly in her jaws.

Vixion nodded in agreement with Kyrie. "It would make a world's difference to be able to swim at all," he meowed jubilantly in response to her. The bracken and white tomcat froze once he saw Eleison disappear beneath the crystalline water. He was half tempted to go rushing after her but he remembered how easily that it was for her to swim in the water without any issues and he relaxed.
Shortly after having his adrenaline rush of the day wasted on a she-cat would swim as well as an otter, said she-cat burst onto the bank carrying a fish in her mouth. "Wow....!" Vixion gasped in wonder.

Eleison padded over to the two other cats and dropped the fish at their paws.
"Swimming isn't h-hard," she meowed, "If you practice. It's the discomfort most cats have t-trouble with." She said quietly, hating the way her tongue seemed to trip over itself whenever she talked. It was part of the reason she tried not to speak half the time. Kyrie smiled at her friend.
"You've told me that a lot, but I still can't get over how scary it is." She grumbled. "Plus that one time you convinced me I almost drowned!"
"Your paws could reach the bottom, Kyrie." Eleison pointed out with a smirk. Kyrie sniffed.
"The water still could have carried me away!"
"... It was a puddle."

He watched in silence as the two she-cats bickered back and forth over Kyrie's inability to swim. Vixion couldn't help but give a slight bit of laughter when Eleison spoke of the puddle. He didn't want to interfere, so he nodded to the she-cats and padded to a higher part of the bank. The tom lied down at the edge of the bank, just out of the water's lapping grasp. He looked out at the water and sighed, "It's such a beautiful day..." the smile that he had been wearing since he saw the two she-cats had began to fade into a soft smirk and he allowed his eyelids to fall shut. Vixion didn't fall asleep, he just relaxed and enjoyed the sound of the water lapping.

Eleison noticed the tom wandering off. She glanced after him, watching as he curled himself up in a sunny spot. She tipped her head to one side slightly, wondering if they bored him. It wouldn't be the first time a cat found Eleison's presence intolerable, but usually cats got along with Kyrie. Maybe he was just sleepy? Either way, Eleison sighed and glanced at the fish.
"You want it, Kyrie?" She asked, gesturing towards it.
"No thanks," Kyrie replied with a huff, "I'm going to go catch my own meal." Eleison could tell she had gotten a little ruffled by the mention of her last swimming lesson. Kyrie trotted off with her tail raised, and Eleison couldn't help but chuckle a little. She glanced at Vixion, who seemed to be asleep. Well then who was going to eat this fish with her? She certainly couldn't eat it alone. With a cross sigh, Eleison picked it up and carried it over to Vixion. She dropped it next to him, sensing that he wasn't as deeply asleep as he looked anyways.
"You want some fish?" She asked.

Vixion opened his eyes, the pale green gems gave a warm addition to his kind smile. He looked up at Eleison and thought about her offer. "I'd feel terrible taking food that I myself had not caught," he mewed honestly and sighed. He had become genuinely relaxed in such a short amount of time. He stretched out his front paws and yawned, his gaping mouth displayed a perfect set of white teeth.
He returned his gaze back to Eleison and finally caught her hint and chuckled quietly. "Unless of course you, you wouldn't mind sharing it. I hate taking food from other cats...I always have," he explained, it wasn't a dignity thing or pride, it was just in respect for the other feline.

Eleison twitched her whiskers at the tom's speech. She didn't need his whole philosophy, she just needed to know if he wanted the fish or not. Holding back a look of intense irritation, Eleison forced herself to sit and listen to his rambling.
"Well I'm only going to be able to eat about half, so consider yourself eating food that would otherwise go uneaten," she meowed crisply.

Vixion could feel an uneasy impatience being awkwardly radiating from Eleison and decided it would just be best to set his pride aside and take the other half of the kill.
He gave a sigh and proceeded with, "Well, if that's how I should look at it, then that's how I will," Vixion gave a short smile, twitched his ears and nodded his head in appreciation and looked at the fish, feeling a small rumble in his stomach. "It's greatly appreciated Eleison. Thank you," he mewed in a cheery tone and glanced back in the direction that Kyrie had trotted off in.

Eleison nodded slightly. She pushed the fish towards him so that he could take whatever he wanted. Then the she-cat turned her sullen grey-blue eyes on the river water. She watched it dance happily in the sunlight, playfully lapping at the strands of grass that had sunken into it and were caught in the current. The smell of dampness lingered in the air, a pleasing aroma that reminded Eleison of her kithood. She twitched her whiskers, trying to distract her mind from the past, and turned to see if Kyrie was coming back or not. She felt sort of uncomfortable being left alone with a tom, as she never really spoke to them ever and yet hated any silences she was forced to endure when her friend was absent.
