Songstar got to her paws and padded after Sparrowfeather. She decided to let the tom lead the way, she was leading a lot lately.

ooc; it's Sparrowfeather, Flameh. Not -pelt. n_ñ
The tom made his way through the small bushes that covered the path to the river, pushing away brambles and branches. Standing aside, he made way for Songstar to pass by first. "She-cat's first," He mewed gallantly, smiling slightly.

((I can't seem to get any cats right lately. I almost wrote Sandstorm originally. I'll fix it))
Songstar followed Sparrowfeather the rest of the way to the river. She watched as he held the brambles out of the way, she was thankful for that becuase her long pelt often got caught. "Thanks" she mewed, padding through the opening.

Sparrowfeather dipped his head as his leader went by, letting the brambles go as he padded after her. "You're quite welcome, my leader." He mewed, trying not to purr. Flicking his tail behind him, the tom padded to the edge of the river, dipping his head as he went to lap some of the cool water.

Songstar looked and saw that the river was still flowing. She padded forward and dipped her head to get a drink. She finished her drink and sat down, curling her tail over her paws. "So" she mewed, wanting to break the silence.

Sparrowfeather's ears twitched as he heard the she-cat's voice. Raising his head, the Maine-coon licked his wet muzzle. "Hmm?" He mewed, "So, what?" He knew the leader was just trying to break the silence by her posture and gestures, already used to it. However, he couldn't help but enjoy how flustered she looked. She was, indeed, a beautiful cat.

Songstar thought for a moment about what she was going to say. She was hoping that Sparrowfeather would start up a conversation but apparently he wasn't going to. "So what do you wanna talk about?" she asked.

Sparrowfeather shrugged, not really sure at what there was to talk about with a leader. Like this, just the two of them sitting by the river. It was kind of...awkward. "Um... How are things in Skyclan?" He mewed, "I mean, is there anything I can help you with?" He flicked his orange bushy tail, not sure of what to do now.

Songstar thought about what was going on and how much she could divulge to the warrior. "Things in SkyClan are good" she mewed "just dealing with the fact that preys becoming more scarce." She wasn't quite sure what to say next.

Sparrowfeather nodded. "I know as much, I was in the last patrol you sent to hunt." He reminded her, licking his paw and running it over his ears. "What I meant was, has there been any trouble with intruders?" Sparrowfeather said, "You know, foxes, badgers, dogs.." The tom's gaze shifted to a passing butterfly, it's blue wings catching his amber eyes. His attention had been re-directed again, just like a kit's. "New-leaf must be close.."

Songstar wanted to tell Sparrowfeather about the possible attack coming but knew she had to keep her mouth shut. "No, the areas been pretty calm lately" she mewed. She took notice of the butterfly flitting about as well. "I hope so" she mewed "we could use the prey."

"I'm glad to hear that.." The tom mewed quietly as his yellow eyes followed the butterfly. His gaze turned to his leader again, and, flicking his tail, he offered. "Want to hunt for a while? The clan could use a bit of extra food, scrawny as they will probably be." His tail, active as ever, curled and uncurled on itself as he spoke, scaring the butterfly h had been previously watching.

Songstar thought about the idea of a hunt a smiled. "A hunt sounds like a great idea" she mewed. She got to her paws and stretched. "Lead the way" she mewed, flicking her tail in invitation.

Sparrowfeather nodded, biting his tongue to keep himself from complimenting how the sun played on the leader's pelt as she stood up. She was indeed, beautiful. "Let's go, then," He said, standing up, too. Turning around, he padded until he crossed the bracken from which they had come through. His yellow eyes looked up, scanning the trees. There was a scent of....squirrel.

Songstar padded after Sparrowfeather. She was curious to see his hunting skills in action, she enjoyed spending time with clanmates and learning their skills. She caught the scent of squrrel as well. "Its all yours" she whispered.

Sparrowfeather smiled as he heard the leader's whisper. Nodding once, he flicked his bushy tail under her chin before darting up a tree. Claws sinking in the bark, the warrior climbed his way up silently. With his underbelly's fur brushing against the tree, Sparrowfeather stayed alert for any visual sign of the rodent. Finally reaching a solid branch on which he could stand on, the warrior scanned the area, his muscles tense.
He spotted the little brown blob of fur just a few branch-leaps away from him. Crouching low, Sparrowfeather clawed his way silently along the branches until he was behind the squirrel. With one strong swipe of his paw, he knocked it over and pulled it toward himself by taking hold of it's tail. Sinking his head, he bit the animal's throat to cut off it's respiratory track, therefore ending it's life.

Songstar studied Sparrowfeather's movements intently. She was very interested in seeing what kind of skills the tom possesed. She watched as he flawlessly caught the squirrel. "Great catch" she mewed.

[Sparrowfeather]
The tom leaped gracefully off the tree, the squirrel dangling from his jaws. Placing it carefully in front of the leader, the warrior dipped his head. "Than you, Songstar." Mischievous yellow eyes looked up at the beautiful she-cat. "It'd for you, my leader. Hope you find it suitable to your tastes."

Songstar smiled at the tom, and felt heat blooming in her cheeks. "Thanks" she mewed and dipped her head slightly. She was starting to fall for the tom, despite her better judgement. He wasn't being as outwardly flirty anymore, he appeared to have a genuine affection towards her.

[Sparrowfeather]
ooc; sorry I took a lifetime to reply. I had no muse at all for little Sparrow here.
ic;
The tom was a little taken a back when the leader smiled, not having seen her do such a thing since he was a kit. His whiskers twitched with amusement as she dipped her head at him. The SkyClan leader dipped her head at him, a simple warrior. Flicking his bushy tail, Sparrowfeather mewed mischievously. "Now now, Songstar, no need for reverences at the mighty me. It's just a squirrel." Giving a few more steps to be at her side, the tom playfully nudged her shoulder with his nose to let her know he was jesting. "Lets hunt for more. Then I'll let you bow your head at me all you want~ "

Songstar grinned inwardly at the playful push. She missed the feeling of playfulness, she was so used to being looked up at, not viewed as just another cat. She liked that Sparrowfeather was willing to act like she wasn't the leader, like she was just another warrior and friend. "Well that sounds like a challenge" she mewed.

[Sparrofeather]
Sparrowfeather's maw broke into a huge grin. "Who said it isn't?" He purred, turning his back on the leader as he darted away, flicking his bushy tail over her face. "Come on, prey doesn't catch itself!"
Big brown paws beat at the ground as he disappeared through the gorse, coming down to a quiet stop as he opened his jaws to scent the air. There was no trace of... no, wait, there it was. The mossy, yet tangy smell of mouse. Got you.. The tom thought, as he crouched down into a hunter's position as he spotted the mouse with his yellow orbs. Getting closer, careful not to make any sound, Sparrowfeather waited a few heartbeats before leaping at it. He batted it to the ground, crushing it's tiny throat with one paw.

Songstar sputtered as Sparrowfeather's tail invaded her face. She watched as he took off into the trees to hunt. She turned and bounded off in the opposite direction."We'll see who will bow" she muttered to herself.
She paused when she got the tell tale scent of a thrush. She carefully looked around and saw the bird poking around the base of a tree. She dropped into a crouch and slowly crept forward. She bunched her muscles, and lept, catching the thrush as it tired to flee. She quickly ended it with a swift bite to the neck.

[Sparrowfeather]
The tom buried a third mouse next to the other two he had caught, careful to hide their scent well. Turning his head up from his task, Sparrowfeather scanned the area, his ears alert. They twitched to and fro, searching from the source of the fluttering sound.
Making a turn to the right, the tom found a small bird at the foot of a tree. The pathetic little animal had an oddly twisted wing, and was fluttering helplessly at his paws. "Now, isn't this my lucky day?" The warrior said, ending the bird's life with a single merciful press of his paw on it's head. "Let me introduce you to three mice I know.."

Songstar looked at her few catches, she had two mice, a thrush and a vole. She knew she needed to do better in order to beat Sparrowfeather. She scanned the surrounding area, her ears pricked and maw parted. The mouth watering scent of squirrel met her and she grinned. She listened carfully and heard scuffiling to her left. She turned slowly and saw they grey bushy tailed creature at the base of a tree. She slowly stalked towards it, before leaping and delivering the death blow.
