Phadestar stretched his legs and padded out of his den and looked down his clan was a hive of movement and the warm sun glowed high in the sky at first he felt calm but, then he realized something with a shock to his brain 'HOW IN THE WORLD DID I SLEEP THIS LONG?!' he thought but then his shock wore as he saw his deputy getting the patrols out and so he decided maybe he should just relax a little for he had overworked himself the previous day and so he padded down the walkway into his camp.

A brown tabby she-cat sat near the leaders den, a squirrel at her paws. Amber eyes watched for a certain tom to finally emerge from his den. Amberfire smiled as soon as he came into view. "Phadestar" she called "over here."

Phadestar turned toward the direction of his mate, Amberfire he padded towards her and sat down and licked a paw to wash his head "Hey Amberfire how are you feeling this morning?" he asked her hoping she wouldn't notice how late he had slept in.

"I'm doing pretty good" Amberfire replied. "How are you feeling lazybones?" she asked, teasing her mate. "You do realize it's almost sunrise, right?" she pointed out.

"Phadestar, great StarClan I was afraid your snores would frighten all the prey from here to the borders." Skydancer's said in his teasing lilting voice. He trotted over to his leader and Amberfire, dipping his head to both of them. "Since our great leader was snoozing the day away, I took the liberty of leading the patrols and stocking up the fresh-kill pile." he smiled, no trace of bitterness nor resentment at this. Skydancer truly loved surved serving his Clan.

Phadestar looked embarrassed a little but as a distraction he licked his fur for a second and then asked his deputy "So any problems on the borders today?" as he finally got over the small sleep incident.

Skydancer shrugged, his liquid-honey eyes untroubled.
"My patrol with Fireflight and Liontail chased out a fox that had made it's den in the old two-leg place. It's gone now so there's no danger to the queens and kits."
Casting an amused glance at Phadestar and his mate, he got up,
"Well, I'll leave you two. Got other patrols to lead, y'know?" With his lilting chuckle as a farewell, Skydancer turned and began to round up a group of cats for a hunting patrol.

Phadestar shook his head and turned to his mate "Well what do you want to do today Amberfire?" he asked his mate as his flicked back and forth.

Amberfire watched the exchange between Skydancer and Phadestar with little interest. She smiled as Skydancer left and her mate turned towards her. "I was thinking we could go hunting or I could beat you at fighting again" she said with a teasing tone.

Phadestar looked at her with twinkle in his icy marble blue eyes and said "Oh yeah? I bet I can squeeze some training in the schedule that is if your up for it?" he finished with a mischievous look in his eye's.

Amberfire's eyes sparkled mischieviously. "I'm always up for another chance to beat you" she said smugly. She flashed him a chesire cat grin.

Phadestar looked at his paws for a second then said "Okay then lets head over to the training hollow and find out" he finished then he turned around and padded down the path to the front and he waited for Amberfire.

Amberfire nodded her agreement. She got to her paws and padded after Phadestar. She was excited, it had been a few days since they had longer than a few minutes together and she missed him.
