Stardust sat in the clearing, gazing up at the full moon in the sky. The delicate she-cat let out a sigh. She didn't get invited to gatherings very often. Her mentor, Shadowmask, was there. Having recently become a warrior, she still hadn't earned the respect of most of her clanmates yet, especially since she didn't like to play games as a kit. Most of her clanmates ignored her because she was quiet and didn't draw attention to herself. She gazed at the sky and saw a star shimmer in the sky. She knew it was one of her warrior ancestors, traveling the endless hunting grounds.

[Snowlion]
The elderly warrior padded toward the fresh-kill pile, amber eyes scanning the semi-warm carcasses of small rodents, birds, and the like. It seemed that someone had managed to hunt down a crow, which surprised him, since the tricky birds were cunning and rather fast. Even so, the black animal looked scrawny and full of feathers, so instead, he picked out a mouse. It wasn't much to look at, but it definitely would fill his empty stomach.
The white and orange tom had been out hunting since dawn, and hadn't allowed himself time to eat since New-leaf was already there, prey was beginning to run around again, and the clan had to be fed first. Picking up his mouse, he scanned the area for a cat to accompany as he ate, always having enjoyed a bit of talk as he ate. Old, wise eyes spotted Stardust, a young warrior that apparently had been one of the few that hadn't gone to the Gathering.
He hadn't been selected to attend the Gathering either, but then again, they couldn't leave the camp unprotected. Eclipsedstar was a young, inexperienced cat, but he had potential. Carrying his mouse by the tail, he padded to the quiet she-cat, sitting down across from her. Dropping his meal, he mewed, "Hope you don't mind a bit of company."

A white and ginger she-cat slid from the shadows of the apprentices den. Flowerpaw stretched, as her amber gaze took in the rather empty camp. Flowerpaw was sad that she wasn't chose to go to the gathering, she was hoping to make new friends. She spotted two warriors that she recognized as Snowlion and Stardust.
Flowerpaw made her way over to the warriors. "Evening Stardust, Snowlion" she mewed cheerfully, a smile on her maw.

Stardust started at the sound of Snowlion's voice, but she smiled warmly at his kind gesture. "No, I don't mind at all." she mewed in her bell-like voice. "I was just wondering how the gathering was going since it is Eclipsedstar's first time there." she meowed honestly. He wasn't as frigid as the Shadowclan leaders she had heard about growing up. She kind of liked that about him, but wondered if her clanmates thought that they were losing part of their identity.
The arrival of Flowerpaw shook Stardust out of her thoughts. Her pale blue eyes glowed with pride at the young apprentice. I hope I get to mentor apprentices one day. the young warrior thought. She loved spending time with kits and elders.

[Snowlion]
The tom smiled kindly at the warrior as he lied down, his meal between his front legs. "I am sure the Gathering is going well enough." Snowlion said, dipping his head to take a bite from his mouse before continuing. "It's been many moons since Shadowclan has had a young leader. The change ought to do us good, and perhaps Eclipsedstar will bring new strength the Clan."
The sound of a young, female voice made his turn around, amber eyes spotting Flowerpaw. "Good evening, young one," he said in reply to her greeting, flicking his bushy white tail.

Stardust nodded thoughtfully. Maybe Shadowclan did need a change? She was too young to have known much of how things had been. "Was Shadowclan much different when you were a kit?" she asked the older warrior.
