Pepperkit drowsily blinked open her eyes. She was growing tired of being alone in the nursery, though at five moons she was capable of the task. The Nursery felt empty without a mother's warm touch or a father's praise. It wasn't that Pepperkit was angry with her parents for putting her in RiverClan, she knew they only did it to protect her, but it didn't seem fair in her head that no one else was going through what she was. Wearily she raised her head and flicked her long, plumming tail before struggling to her paws. Pepperkit's mouth opened in a wide, emotionless yawn and closed with a snap. The morning chills from the iced river entered the Nursery through it's woven walls, making Pepperkit shiver and long for the days when she could lay on the rocks again and sunbathe. Pepperkit decided to have a conversation with herself and try out some of the new words she overheard in camp that bigger cats yowled when they were upset. "Fox-dung! It's SunHigh already?"[/i][/size]

Pepperkit was unaware of the pair of ice-blue eyes that were watching her from another nest. Galekit lay crouched down with muscles tensed, just waiting for the other kit to rise. When Pepperkit finally got to her paws and was a few steps away from her next, Galekit moved. Fast as he could, the silver tabby kit dashed from his nest and crashed into his denmate. "Ha, didn't know I was there, did 'ya?" he meowed with a grin.

Feeling her spirits lift, Pepperkit threw Galekit off of her and reered up on her hind legs. She then swatted the air and let out a rumble from her throat. "Roar! I'm a giant fish here to eat you!" Pepperkit took a few steps forward before falling on top of Galekit. The RiverClan she-kit then began nipping Galekit's ear, purring dispite trying to look indimidating.

Galekit smirked at Pepperkit's impression of a giant fish. "Mouse-brain, that's not a fish! That's a badger! Fishes go like this!" He sunk to the ground until his belly lay flat on the ground and flopped around, gasping loudly like a fish out of water. "I'm a fish, but I can't live out of water! Gasp, I'm going to die!" With a dramatized flail of his paws, he stopped moving. Galekit held his breath to better imitate death before laughing.

Pepperkit was startled at first when she didn't see her denmate breathing, but when she heard Galekit chuckle, the black kitten lept on top of her silver denmate. "Oh, look! A stranded fish! I'd better take it back to camp so Brackenstar can eat it!" Pepperkit began tugging at Galekit's ears playfully, making over-dramatic noises with each tug. She then turned without warning, flicking her long tail against Galekit's nose, hoping to make him sneeze. |

Galekit squeaked when Pepperkit began to tug at his ears to drag him out to the clearing. "Ow! Hey Pepperkit, that hurts!" He wrenched himself away from her, wincing as he felt even more force on his head before rubbing at the appendages. "If you're gonna drag someone, you do it by their scruff." he snapped, pulling his paw away to see if there was blood. "I should know, Violetheart is always dragging me somewhere I don't want to go."
