Everything seemed perfect, everything looked perfect, though Smokestar that everything could very well be a big fat lie. He knew that when things seemed the brightest there was always a lurking shadow soon to follow. He knew this by his moons of watching his clanmates and other cats experience the happiest moments in life and then in most cases something crumbled down and reality was exposed. At those times it came apparent that nothing was at it seemed. When you didn't talk much and only watched, you tended to notice this more than others. Personally, Smokestar hated it. Now that he was Thunderclan's leader he began to hate it even more. Nearly everyday he had to watch over the clan like a queen over her kits. He didn't mind it really, he loved his clan, they were his family. Though knowing that something so simple could end it for them and ruin everything in one sweep. The gray tabby shook his head ridding the thoughts from his conscious .
Even though it was still technically bareleaf Smokestar had to admit that the weather seemed, well perfect. The sun was out warming the earth below greeting every creature who came out, not a single cloud dared to block its rays. Despite the obvious warmth there was still a bit of a chill in the air that Smokestar felt each time a breeze ruffled his gray tabby fur. But he was thankful for it, warm weather meant that prey would be coming out of their den and take advantage of the nice weather just as he was. Quick and easy prey to add to the freshkill pile. A few foxlengths back there was a collection of a sparrow, a squirrel and two mice that he managed to kill.
It was enough that Smokestar could head back to camp, but he didn't want to go back. He like being able to stretch his legs out here. Being leader was making him everything he never used to be, he now had to converse more, had to give orders and advice. Maybe it wasn't that bad, Smokestar supposed that being looked to had its perks. But sometimes he wanted to get back to his roots, just like he was doing now. Stretching out on the slightly frozen earth Smokestar closed his eyes lifting his nose to the sky, his ear flicking at the approaching cat.

"Greetings Smokestar." Said a cheerful voice from behind one of the bushes. She had padded closer to her leader and dropped her vole and mouse at her paws. She noticed the worried expression on Smokestar's face and she wondered if he was alright. Maybe him being leader wasn't all he cracked it out to be. Maybe it was too much. Maybe he had had a dream from Starclan. She shook her head slightly. Don't run away with your imagination just yet Firefly.
"You seem troubled Smokestar." She started then backed off a bit. "I saw you walking while hunting. You looked abit troubled so I decided to cheer you up a bit. Would you like to have a little competition?" She asked with bright eyes.
