Name: Owlshadow
Age: 74 moons
Gender: Male
Clan: ThunderClan
Position: Elder
Description: Owlshadow is a dark tabby tom with very thick fur, especially around his shoulders. He has cool pale green eyes and almost always wears a bored or sour expression. He is a big cat, with broad shoulders and short but insanely strong legs. His tail is long and fluffy, with coarse fur. His ears curl inwards slightly at the tips, giving him an owlish look. He has graying fur around his eyes and muzzle, the only sign of his age.
Personality: Owlshadow is not one for complaining. He suffers in silence and doesn't like cats to make a fuss over him. He likes to be independent, and often is caught trying to sneak out fot he camp. He may look serious (and can certainly be so) but he's really a mischevious, caring sort of tom. Owlshadow is irritable at times, but he loves kits and is very indulgent with them (much to the queens and warriors' chagrin). The only cats that can get him to soften up are the young ones, and around them he is much calmer and subdued than otherwise.
History: Owlshadow was born into ThunderClan of two loyal warriors, Birchreach and Kestralcall. He and his sister, Billowkit, spent a lot of time playing pranks as kits. Their apprenticeship was held off due to misbehavior, but when they finally became apprentices, something changed between the two fun-loving siblings. Before they becames 'paws, the two were always together, always side by side. But Billowpaw soon began to go off on her own, leaving Owlpaw behind. While Owlpaw goofed off as much as always, Billowpaw had become serious and no longer wanted to play with her brother. Owlpaw developed bitter feelings towards his sister for abandoning him, and he became wreckless as ever, doing more and more risky things to get attention from his parents, his leader, his Clanmates, his sister. All he wanted was attention. Then Owlpaw met Netherpaw, a beautiful ShadowClan apprentice. The two became close friends - Netherpaw was every bit as daring as Owlpaw was. The two met at nights, playing together and just talking sometimes. They grew very close, and Owlpaw told Netherpaw that he wanted to join her, in ShadowClan. But the relationship between their Clans was not good, so Netherpaw told him that it was best to wait. So they did wait. After many moons, Owlpaw and Billowpaw finally earned their warrior names - Owlshadow and Billowwind. Owlshadow was so excited when he found out that Netherstep had recieved her name, too. They were elated and excited with the prospects of life, no longer thinking about Clans or duties but only of each other. It was during this time that Netherstep came to expect Owlshadow's kits. He was dumbfounded at the news, but wanted so badly to be a good father. He was determined to leave ThunderClan and join Netherstep in ShadowClan, but she was afraid of what her Clanmates might think. He agreed to put the decision off, though he was reluctant. It was a few moons later when ShadowClan and ThunderClan broke out into an all-out battle. Owlshadow fought, despite not wanting to harm Netherstep's Clanmates. And then - there she was. He was horrified when Billowwind cornered Netherstep and raised her claws towards her. All Owlshadow could think about were his kits. He ran forward and tackled his sister, blinded by rage and the will to protect his mate and kits. Billowwind gave him one, surprised look, then crumpled beneath him, her neck torn and bleeding. Owlshadow stared at her, horrified. Netherstep looked at him and then around them, but they were away from the other cats - no one had seen what had happened. She told Owlshadow to go, and he did so, though he didn't want to. His sister's death was hard for him, even if they weren't very close anymore. He felt guilt whereever he went. Then Netherstep stopped coming to meet him. He grew panicky, until at the latest gathering it was announced that Netherstep had given birth to three beautiful kits - and had died due to a problem in the birthing. Owlshadow was stricken dumb by the news, and couldn't leave the warriors den for days. No cat asked him what was wrong. He finally went to his leader and told her the whole truth, waiting to be kicked out, not caring what happened. But his leader understood and knew that he hadn't meant any cat harm. She allowed him to stay. Owlshadow knew he could never claim his kits as his own. But he watched them at gatherings, and knew that they were all that remained of his love for the beautiful ShadowClan warrior. He began to take life more seriously, began to fight to deserve the second chance he'd been given. No cat besides his late leader knew what he'd done, and he wanted to make up for it with every ounce of his breath. Owlshadow still regrets his past, and laments that he no longer has the strength or youth to work for his Clan, or to make the journey to see his young kits as they grow.
