Silverpaw landed on the ground with a thump as she was pushed off the tom. Shaking he head, she got to her paws, her fur bristling along her gray spine as she hissed, "I know what to do! I have a mentor already, you know?" Flicking her tail in annoyance, the tiny apprentice gave Sleetpaw her back.
She couldn't help it, laughing that is. She didn't know why, but just looking at him there giving her advice made her laugh. It was ridiculous and irrational, there wasn't anything funny about the matter. She didn't know whether he was emphasizing his superiority--him being an elder apprentice---, or was just giving her advice. Either way, it caused her to laugh.
She laughed silently, only her whiskers twitching. However, she had to get a hold of herself.
Silverpaw didn't like the tom, not in the least, but maybe, just maybe, he was right. She had let her guard down. Then again, she wasn't about to say that to him.
Any trace of the laughter was gone. Readying her muscles, she turned around and launched herself at him again. This time, aiming for his paws.
