...come out come out wherever you are... Owlfeather looked around for his apprentice, who was nowhere to be found. He hadn't exactly told him they'd be training, but when he couldn't find him it didn't make it easy to do. "Bramblepaw?" He called, looking around the clearing. It was a quiet day and not much was happening, but it was also a little boring. Perfect time to get in some training in Owlfeather's opinion. If he could find his apprentice before dusk...

A young brown tabby tom was aimlessly wandering ShadowClan's territory. Bramblepaw was enjoying his rare free time, clearing his mind with a nice relaxing walk. Bramblepaw's ears perked as he heard his name being called. He changed course and headed for the clearing. When he arrived her saw his mentor, Owlfeather. "Hello Owlfeather" he mewed.

"There you are. Where have you been?" Owlfeather asked the young tom. He wasn't too annoyed with him, but he was curious. "I was hoping to get in some training."

"I was just out for a walk" he mewed "I thought I had some free time." "Training sounds like a good idea though" Bramblepaw said.

"What do you want to work on?" Owlfeather asked. Bramblepaw was about even in his skills, then he remembered one they hadn't really worked on. "How about climbing?"

Bramblepaw pondered the question and was about to answer when Owlfeather asked another one. Climbing he thought to himself just great. Bramblepaw had a little problem with heights and liked his paws on the ground but he knew it was a neccessary skill. "Uhh sure" he answered nervously.

"No cat really enjoys this Bramblepaw... that I know of anyway." Owlfeather soothed, touching Bramblepaw's flank with his tail. "Let's try a small one first." He said, looking around for a good beginner tree.

Bramblepaw nodded and took a deep breath. "Okay, i'll try" he mewed, waiting for his mentor to select a tree.

Owlfeather found a short pine, no more than four foxlengths tall. "Here, try this one." He said. "Be careful, the pine resin can be sticky."

Bramblepaw looked at the tree before taking a deep breath and nodding. He padded over to the tree and dug his claws in. He took another deep breath before pulling himself up. He slowly scaled the tree before pulling himself onto the first branch.

"There, you see? You do just fine." Owlfeather encouraged. "Just make sure you are pushing yourself up with your hindclaws, not your front."

"Okay" Bramblepaw mewed. He began pushing more with his hindclaws until he reached the top of the tree.

"Now can you get down?" Owlfeather asked. "Or will you build a nest up there?"

Brmablepaw looked down and his eyes widened. "I think a nest sounds like a good idea" he mewed.

"How will you hunt?" Owlfeather asked. "You planning to sprout wings?"

"I'll just blend in with the branches and catch unsuspecting squirrels" he mewed pointedly. He thought it was a pretty fool proof plan.

"Oh? Lets see you jump from branch to branch? Or are you going to starve waiting for your meal to come to you." Owlfeather asked with a grin.

"There's lots of squirrels around here" he mewed "I think I could survive up here."

"You see I would, if there were any around right now" he mewed, looking left and right. "But there doesn't seem to be any around at this particular moment."

Owlfeather sat down. "Oh I'm content to wait." He said with a smile. Either Bramblepaw was going to build up his courage or hunger and cold would drive him to a course of action. He wasn't going to order the apprentice down, but he was going to wait and see.
A couple moment's later he smelled a mouse rustling in the bushes behind him and he grinned as he went to hunt down the meal. It was the work of a moment to dispatch the creature and he brought it back to eat in front of Bramblepaw.
He made a great show of taking a bit and chewing slowly to savor the taste. "Mmmm." He hummed in satisfaction. "My this is delicious. Too bad you can't share it, since you are living in that tree now." He said with a mournful face.
((XD he's so bad))
